A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
