Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Secure French Super Cup in Kuwait.

Trophy celebration scene

The Parisian club has now secured the prestigious trophy on 14 separate occasions.

The Parisian giants needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in the Gulf and secure a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.

The Champions League holders seemed to be sailing towards a comfortable triumph in the match between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup holders after the French winger opened the net early on.

However, the southern French side struck two times in the closing moments to take a surprise lead. First, the English forward scored from the spot-kick, before the defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking turn of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the final moments to force the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the hero, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and the young talent all scored successfully for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a convincing shootout victory.

The record winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the last thirteen years.
